Folsom High junior Jordan Fuller received unexpected news last week when he was selected to the US Ski Team's Development Camp in Chile this summer. With only 12 U21 athletes selected (six men and six women) to this super elite camp, being named is a tremendous honor. ?I?m a little surprised I made the first cut, I was thinking maybe as an alternate, especially with the western region being so strong with most of the top juniors in the country racing here,? Fuller said. ?To be named to two consecutive elite US Ski team camps, it's a special honor and privilege to train and learn alongside some of the best racers and coaches in the country. ?All that extra conditioning work I did over last summer and fall paid off. I was racing my best late in the season when others were beginning to get worn out from all the school, training, travel and racing. Those eight top-10s in my last 12 races must have done the trick.? After a short break Fuller returns to the slopes in mid-June to train at Mt Hood's Palmer snow field and represent his sponsors at the Government Camp race village. Fuller returns to New Zealand in mid-July for the beginning of the 2012-2013 FIS International season and the year's first FIS races on the South Island.
