Jordan Fuller, a ninth grader at Folsom High School, showed he can race with the big boys on Jan. 9-10 as he posted three top-10 finishes in United States Ski Association’s J3 Far West Division’s “Wild West JO Slalom Qualifier Series.” Despite being a full-time student, one of only two full-time students and part-time racers ranked in the top-15 nationally, Fuller showed his stuff with style earning an amazing “Hat Trick” with a fourth, fifth and ninth-place finishes in the three-day race series. Fuller was the only competitor to earn a top-10 finish in each of all three weekend races. With his strong finishes, Fuller locked up a favorable seed in the USSA National Junior Olympics Slalom races to be held at Mt Bachelor, OR in late March. Top finishers are awarded a chance to race in the “Whistler Cup” in British Colombia, Canada against the world’s best J3 racers. Fuller ‘s next big event is the next “Wild West JO Qualifier” - a three-day, three-race giant slalom contest to be held at Alpine Meadows February 6-8.
