Kristen Shill wants everyone off the couch and exercising and she’s got the perfect event to do it. Shill, the founder of the Folsom Road Runners Running Club, is putting on a free walk/run on Sept. 18 in conjunction with the Road Runners Club of America’s 4th annual Run@Work Day. While the event is free, runners should register for the walk/run at folsomroadrunners.com. Participants will meet at 6 p.m. at the balloon arc that will be located behind Jamba Juice at E. Natoma and Blue Ravine. The run will be held on the Parkway trails and participants will chose to run up to three laps, either 1.2 miles, 2.4 miles or 3.6 miles. “My goal is to get people off the coach and to encourage activity,” Shill said. “Also, I want people to know about the Folsom Road Runners Club and that we’re here to support them. It’s going to be a fun time out there. This event is free and it’s for everyone. If you don’t want to run then come out and walk it.” For more information, visit folsomroadrunners.com.
