The Folsom Women’s Club recently granted three scholarships to Folsom area high school students. The Club, organized in 1960 by community leader Jane Biggs, has each year since its inception raised funds and awarded scholarships to qualified graduating seniors from Folsom area high schools. Today, theclub continues its purpose and vision to promote educational, cultural and philanthropic interests within the Folsom community. It is with thanks to the dedication and efforts of the club’s members and volunteers that the legacy continues. This year’s scholarship recipients were Mindi Miller and Paige Laliberte, both graduating seniors from Folsom High School, who in June were each awarded a scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Another recipient, Assam Alfi, from Folsom Lake High School was awarded a $250 scholarship. Folsom Women’s Club is a not for profit organization open to interested persons who live in the surrounding Folsom area. They can be contacted at or by phone, 916-983-6415.
