Folsom track team falls to Pleasant Grove

Folsom High’s varsity track and field teams posted 10 first-place finishes against Pleasant Grove April 10, but didn’t have the depth to win the meet.
The varsity boys lost 72-50, while the varsity girls fell 87-46.
The boys won six events, including two by Austin Carter, who won the 100-meter dash in 10.9 seconds and the 110 hurdles in 14.7.
Tim Scott set a personal-best mark in winning the pole vault by clearing the bar at 12 feet. Also in the jumps, Jordan Lim claimed the triple jump with a leap of 34’7”.
Blake Shaw won the 800 meters in 2:06.5, while Sam Scheuer finished first in the 1,600 in 4:37.1.
For the girls, Muna Alhamad was first to the finish line in the 800 meters in 2:28, while Sarah Anderson won the 1,600 in 5:35.
Cameron Estep claimed the 300 hurdles in 55.1, while Katie Bock won the pole vault by clearing the bar at 8’6”.
The freshman-sophomore boys lost 80-44, despite two first-place finishers by David Haug in the shot put (38’0’) and discus (95’ 1 1/2”).
Garrick Johnson also had a good day by winning the long jump (18’9”) and high jump (5’2”).
Mike Kinoshita also won the pole vault with a vault of 8’0”.
The freshman-sophomore girls were on the wrong side of a 62-15 score. The team’s lone winner was Ashley Anderson, who took first in the 3,200 meters in 15:41.4.
