The Folsom Soccer Club announced today an array of sponsors for the annual Folsom Cup Classic scheduled August 2-3 at six different park venues in the city. The tournament will attract more than two thousand players, coaches and parents to Folsom and is considered one of the top-rated youth soccer tournaments in Northern California. The theme for sponsorship this year is “Building a Strong City and Building Strong Kids.” Sponsors for this year’s event include developers, contractors and engineers, and each sponsor has contributed in some way to building the City of Folsom. Projects that have involved the sponsors include the new bridge below Folsom Dam, the Lake Natoma Crossing, the Parkway, the Folsom South Area and various other community construction and infrastructure work. Platinum sponsors include Kiewit Pacific, Granite Construction, MJM Properties, LLC and the Folsom South Area Land Owner’s Group. Gold sponsors include Teichert Construction and Capitol Strategies. HDR Engineering and CH2M Hill are silver sponsors, and bronze sponsors include Kleinfelter Engineering, Fehr & Peers Traffic Engineers, Brewer & Lofgren, Attorneys at Law, Parker Development Company, CC Meyers, Inc., the Folsom Athletic Association and the Global Leadership Alliance. Contributing as Friends of Folsom Soccer are Robert G. Holderness Law Firm, Will and Beverley Kempton, Folsom Lake Dodge, Folsom Tourism Bureau, Islands Restaurant, Raley’s, Mayor Eric King, Vice Mayor Steve Miklos, and council members Andy Morin, Kerri Howell and Jeff Starsky. The Folsom Soccer Club appreciates the generosity of all of the sponsors and anticipates a very successful tournament. “We could not run a quality tournament without community support, and we thank all of our sponsors,” Tournament Chairman Dean Williams said. “Building a strong city is important, but helping to build strong kids is the real accomplishment.”
