A 3-2 win over Ponderosa on Thursday has Folsom High’s varsity soccer team riding a three-game unbeaten streak. After losing the Delta River League opener to Jesuit on Sept. 22, the Bulldogs (2-1-1, 3-6-1) have beaten Oak Ridge 1-0, tied Sheldon 1-1 and Thursday defeated Ponderosa, 3-2. “We’re just working together as a team,” said junior defender Logan Guler. “We’ve had more time playing together and that’s helped.” Teammate Brandon Riel added, “We played with a lot of intensity. Now that we’ve got the right guys in the right positions, we’re starting to play better.” After a scoreless first half, Jordan Fuller put Folsom up 1-0 before the Bruins tied it up. The Bulldogs, however, scored two more times with goals from Adrian Brand and Roberto Garcia to take a 3-1 lead. Folsom keeper Craig Stafford allowed one more goal, but the Bulldogs held on for a 3-2 win over the Bruins (2-2, 6-2)
