Some Folsom boys are making quite a splash in the under-9 NORCAL Premier Soccer League.

The Revolution-04 are part of the American River Futbol Club and last week completed an undefeated fall league season with a 9-0 record, outscoring opponents 42-9 to finish on top of the NORCAL’s top Gold bracket.

The 11 boys are playing their first year together as a team, but all of them are products of the Folsom Soccer Club recreation program.

In addition to playing NORCAL League, these boys have also been playing in competitive soccer club tournaments and NORCAL State Cup preliminary seeding games. The boys took first place over the summer in the top bracket of both Placer United and BOCA Soccer Clubs annual tournament. Overall, the boys have won 36 games and lost seven.

While coaches and parents are extremely proud of these 8- and 9-year olds, these boys have their sights set on loftier goals. They will be competing for the NORCAL State Cup beginning Nov. 10 at Granite Park in Sacramento. More than 100 teams are part of the U9 NORCAL League. Revolution-04 has positioned themselves as the fifth seed with 24 teams left to compete for the State Cup. The final journey will be the most difficult, as other talented boys from the Central Valley, Bay Area, and North will all be playing for the same title.

Members of the team include  Eddie Cagney, Drew Schneiderman, Jadon Wexler, Rocco Bastoni, Nicholas Strangio, Brycen Shackelford, Mateo Malta, Aidan Santos, Taine Jones, Colin Veirs and Blake Franzen.
