A man was arrested yesterday after an alleged burglary attempt. Around 3:10 p.m. Nicholas Stewart, 20, of Orangevale, was arrested on multiple charges including possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools and a probation violation. Folsom Police officers found Stewart hiding in bushes behind a home in the 100 block of Casselman Street in Folsom, said Sgt. Jason Browning, Folsom Police Department spokesperson. Browning said after officers saw Stewart acting strangely in the bushes and ignoring officers' commands, they held him at gunpoint until sufficient officers arrived to effect the arrest. Officers found a stolen circular saw, a switch blade and a loaded .22 caliber magazine for a gun near where Stewart was hiding, Browning said. Authorities said a canine unit helped search the area.
