The 15-and-under Hawks lacrosse team finished its season with a win and a loss over the weekend against two strong, top-ranked Bay Area lacrosse teams, Novato and Ross Valley. The Hawks ended the season with a 12-4 record. “This weekend was not about any one individual, but clearly about the Hawks playing together as a team,” said coach Bob Hummel. The Hawks ended their regular season last week 11-3 after beating Sierra Foothills but losing to Fair Oaks. Last week Colin Whitney had two goals and three assists. Jeremy Sommer had four more goals against Sierra Foothills. Dean Wightman, PJ Sullivan and DJ Lundberg all played excellent defense. The 13-and-under Falcons defeated formidable opponents from Novato, 5-1, Danville, 5-2, and Fremont 5-4. In the 5-1 win against Novato, Bradford Petchauer scored two goals followed by one goal each for Chase Browning, Matt Holden and Reilly Donahoo with assists from Hunter Jorgensen, Cooper Gooch and Ethan Sclare. The second game was a 5-2 win against Danville with Matt Holden scoring twice and one goal each for Taylor Koontz, Keegan Crain and Blake Sorensen with assists from Hunter Jorgensen, Chase Browning and two assists from Dakota Chaplin. The final game was a 5-4 win against Fremont with Browning and Sorensen both scoring two goals and one goal from Justin Jacobs.
