Folsom kids represent in national art contest

Vera Mae Adizas, a fifth-grader sponsored by Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 929 of Folsom, has been awarded first place in the fifth-grade division of the national 2011 Eagles Children's Art Contest. Second place was awarded to Alexandra Espinoza. Both girls attend Theodore Judah Elementary School in Folsom. In collaboration with school Principal Canen Peterson, the students received recognition during a celebration-presentation in front of their peers on Monday, May 30, at Theodore Judah auditorium. There were a total of 17 winners nationwide from Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio, Florida, North Dakota, Texas, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
