Jocelyn Puga, a 2007 graduate of Folsom High School, was named to the California Collegiate Athletic Association All-Academic Team for the 2008-2009 year . Puga, a scholarship player at midfield on the Sonoma State University Soccer Team, will be starting her junior year this season and is majoring in Urban Planning with a minor in Spanish Sonoma State is a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association, which includes teams from Northern and Southern California and is regarded as one the strongest Division II soccer conferences in the country. Last year Sonoma State won the Northern Division of the conference and missed qualifying for the NCAA tournament by one game. To qualify for the All-Academic Team athletes must meet three criteria: they must earned a varsity letter, competed in a sponsored sport and maintained a 3.40 or higher. Puga began her soccer career in Folsom playing on recreational teams, moving up to Folsom select teams and finishing at the club level for Sacramento United before leaving for Sonoma State.
