If Friday’s win over Jesuit was big, think about how big it would be if the Bulldogs could beat Oak Ridge Friday in front of their hometown fans.

Fighting for their playoff lives, the Bulldogs (2-3 in league, 11-11 overall) have an opportunity Friday to take a big step toward a playoff berth if they were to upset the Trojans, who beat Folsom, 47-29, on Jan. 11. That wasn’t a good game for the Bulldogs, but the team is boosted from back-to-back wins over Ponderosa and Jesuit and in Friday’s win over the Marauders played their best basketball of the season.

“This (win) gives us a big confidence boost, definitely,” Folsom senior captain Patrick Chen said. “This was a big game and we’ve got a couple more to go.”

Folsom coach Mike Wall knows Oak Ridge (3-2 in league, 13-9 overall) is a good team and said it would take a great performance to beat them.

“If we play like we did tonight (against Jesuit), we’d have a chance,” Wall said.

Before Friday’s game, both teams have difficult games Wednesday, as Folsom heads to top-ranked Sheldon, who beat Folsom by 39 points on Jan. 9, while Oak Ridge plays host to Pleasant Grove, the second-best team after Sheldon.
