For the first time in more than 20 years, Folsom High’s varsity boys’ golf team has won a league title. By winning the fourth and final Delta River League Tournament on Tuesday, the Bulldogs have clinched the league championship. Folsom coach Steve Burgess said it’s the school’s first league golf title since 1988. Folsom finished league play by shooting a 371 on its home course at Empire Ranch, followed by Jesuit’s 377 and Pleasant Grove’s 382. D.J. Christensen and Dalton Theis led the way for the Bulldogs, as both shot one-over-par 72s. Brian Knoll and Joel Slak shot 75s, followed by Taylor Knoll (77) and Alex Morgan (86). By finishing the league tournaments with the lowest accumulated scores, Slak, Taylor Knoll, Brian Knoll and Christensen also made the all-league team. Folsom competes at the divisional tournament Monday at El Macero Country Club.
