The Folsom Fusion soccer team recently won the Northern California under-10 boys’ Association Cup, a tournament that crowns the top select soccer team in Northern California. The Fusion achieved their ultimate goal in dramatic fashion, overcoming a 2-0 halftime deficit in the championship game against a very talented Sunnyvale Scorpions team, scoring four unanswered second half goals and eventually winning 4-2. Overall, the Fusion won all six of their cup matches at the Livermore, CA. venue. During the preliminary round the Fusion had victories over the Healdsburg Hounds, 5-2, Sunnyvale Scorpions 5-3 and Mission Chivas 6-0. The Fusion beat league rival Elk Grove Galaxy 4-0 in the quarterfinals and league rival the Rocklin Trouble 2-1 in the semifinals on their way to eventually hoisting the championship cup. The Fusion, a very unique group of young boys, has displayed an incredible work ethic all season and eventually having it pay off with this championship.
