Folsom High’s freshman boys’ basketball team (7-4) faced off against cross-town rival Vista del Lago on Dec. 18 and won a hard-fought defensive game, 40-31.

Guard Justin Harrell led Folsom with 18 points and three steals, including 13 second-half points. The Bulldogs’ rebounding was the difference.

"We did not play our best game, but I was very pleased with our rebounding effort, particularly in the paint,” said Folsom coach Mark Spring. “We did a great job limiting the Eagles to one shot per possession."

Tyler Jacobs led Folsom with eight rebounds and Roger Neal contributed seven boards from his guard position.
