Folsom dance company closes out season

Stages-Folsom Dance Arts has planned an adventurous close to their 10th season including performances by Ballet Folsom and iMPACT Contemporary Dance. The performances open with Ballet Folsom’s presentation of “The Sleeping Beauty” with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The ballet’s current adaptation is choreographed by Deirdre Hawkins, artistic director for Ballet Folsom. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., April 28 and at 2 p.m., April 29. The 10th season closure will end with a performance by iMPACT Contemporary Dance staging the original production “Life in Color.” This vibrant and moving concert, choreographed by Artistic Director Kelli Leighton, creates a exciting visual experience which combines the beauty of color with the artistry of contemporary dance, said Roberta McClellan, executive director Stages-Folsom Dance Arts. “Life in Color” is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 Both youth dance companies as well as Sound Out Tap Company performs under the Stages-Folsom Dance Arts umbrella which is a non-profit arts organization located in Folsom.
