The goal of the preseason season schedule is to prepare for league play. After 14 games, Folsom High coach Mike Wall is glad his team has two more games before the traveling to Sheldon on Jan. 11 to open Delta River League play. In their final preseason tournament, the Bulldogs lost three of four games at the Max Preps Invitational held in San Diego from Dec. 27-30. Folsom lost its first game against La Costa Canyon, 71-50, before beating Villa Park, 63-61. The Bulldogs then lost to Army-Navy, 60-41, and Parker, 49-41. “The trip went well, but we played terrible,” Wall said. “We just continue to struggle defensively. Our focus on taking care of business is not there.” Folsom wraps up preseason play with back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday, on the road at Monterey Trail and at home against Del Oro, respectively. “These teams are comparable to us and if we play well, I think they will be good games and games that we can win,” Wall said. “If we only play OK, then we probably won’t win them.”
