The Folsom American Major All-Stars have reached the final of the championship bracket at the tournament hosted at Fiest Field in Granite Bay. Folsom American defeated Roseville West on Monday, 4-3, coming back from a 3-0 deficit with four runs in the fourth inning. Eli Wood started the game on the mound and Brad Funk threw the last four innings. Taylor Garcia had two hits and Josh Hook and Jake Jeffrey each added one hit. “We played flawless defense with a double play in the fifth inning to assist Funk, as he pitched well to shut down Roseville West’s attempts at a comeback,” Folsom manager Ernie Hook said. On Tuesday, behind the pitching of Jeffrey, who scattered four hits and struck out 11 in the win, Folsom defeated El Dorado Hills South 5-1. Offensively, Folsom scored once in the third when Hook stole home. Hook and Jorden Torres had hits in the inning. Folsom scored four more runs in the fourth with aggressive base running by Jeffrey, who stole three bases, and Caelen Bland, Anthony Baciocco and Garcia. Bland, Baciocco and Hook drove in runs. Folsom faces Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. Saturday with the winner advancing to the championship game.
