Folsom Lake College’s men’s golf team finished second to Santa Rosa in the Big 8 Conference. The two teams entered the final conference tournament Thursday tied at the top of the standings, but Santa Rosa shot a 379 at Alister McKenzie Golf Course in Sacramento to win the tournament, while Folsom Lake placed third with a 384, three shots behind runner-up American River. Tom Crowther led the Falcons by shooting a 73. Cole Zarecky, Luke Ivazian and James Millward all shot 77, while Jake Kroeker and Steve Mesich shot 80 and 86, respectively. Despite finishing second overall in the conference standings, the Falcons have earned a berth in the NorCal Regional Championships to be held at Diablo Golf Club in Patterson on May 9. Tennis update Three tennis players from Folsom Lake College competed in the Ojai Tournament on Thursday and all three suffered the same result. Nik Tummala lost his first-round match 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, while Nick Lord also dropped a three-setter, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. Gary Peiffer had a competitive match, but also lost 6-4, 6-4.
