The Folsom Lake College women’s golf team grabbed a sixth-place team finish in Thursday’s Big 8 Conference tournament No. 4 at Table Mountain Golf Club outside of Oroville. The Falcons’ individual scores weren’t spectacular, but were good enough to push the team ahead of A.R.C. and Butte. According to head coach Mark Hatala, most teams struggled with the Table Mountain course, as evidenced by the higher scores across the board. One player who didn’t post a higher score than Tuesday’s round at Bartley Cavanaugh was FLC’s Sara Gulden, who dropped four strokes to a 96. Janet Jones led the Falcons’ scoring with an 88, eight strokes higher than Tuesday. Kayla Sandhagen came in with a 113, while Jessica Mendoza shot a 132. In the team scoring, Delta College (Stockton) won the tournament with a score of 345, four strokes ahead of Sacramento City. It was the first time this season that Sac City had failed to win a Big 8 tournament.
