The Folsom Lake College men’s golf team set a school record Thursday, shooting a 368 to win a non-conference match at Teal Bend Golf Club in Sacramento.

Joel Slak led the way with an even-par 72, while Dylan Neal followed with a 73. Tom Crowther and Jordan Sato-Sterni came in with 74s, while Jace Tiller finished in 75 strokes. Brad Peil rounded out the scoring with a 77. For the first time in school history, the Falcons had all six golfers shot 77 or better.

With a score of 368, the Falcons finished three strokes in front of runner-up Santa Rosa.

“Any time you can throw out a 77 (as the worst score), your team has played well,” Folsom coach Barry Zarecky said. “We finally appear to have the depth needed to compete for a top spot in the Big 8 Conference.”

The Falcons will return to Teal Bend today for Big 8 Conference Tournament No. 3 and then travel to Diablo Grande Thursday for Big 8 Tournament No. 4.
