An El Dorado Hills massage therapist arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and sexual battery last week has been released from custody. Patrick Lockard, 46, of Shingle Springs was arrested Sept. 5 following an investigation by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. A woman reported she was receiving a massage from Lockard at Massage Envy in El Dorado Hills when he reportedly held her down and sexually “battered” her, according to a press release from the Sheriff’s department. “Detectives began an investigation to corroborate her statements and eventually arrested Lockard on Wednesday (Sept. 5),” said Lt. Tim Becker of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department. Lockard has reportedly been a massage therapist for 16 years and employed at Massage Envy in El Dorado Hills for the past two years. When contacted by phone, Massage Envy had no comment. According to online jail records, as of Sunday evening, Lockard was no longer in custody. Some women in the area say they would not feel comfortable getting a professional massage from a man. Sam Culliver, of the El Dorado Hills area, said she occasionally gets a massage, but prefers to have a female masseuse. “I just don’t think I’d feel comfortable,” she said. “I know it’s all professional, but I just wouldn’t be OK with having a man, that wasn’t my husband, give me a massage.” Attempts to locate Lockard for comment were unsuccessful. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with additional information regarding such activity to contact Detective Richard Horn at (530) 642-4715.
