The El Dorado Hills 10- and 11-year-old all-star team advanced in the California District 54 Little League tournament with a 10-0 win over Folsom National on Tuesday evening. EDH had Anthony Pallari and Jake Manfredi combine for the shutout in advancing to the semifinals of the bracket, which will be held on Friday at Jeff Mitchell Field. The EDH all-stars took an early advantage at the plate. In the bottom half of the first, two runners reached before Pallari stroked a two-run double over the center fielder. Sheamus Doyle later drove home a run with a single to give EDH a quick 5-0 cushion. ?We came out right from the start with hot bats. It was just a positive attitude from our side and we kept that good vibe going the rest of the way,? said El Dorado Hills coach Chris Hansen. Nathan Hansen smacked a one-out home run to right field in the second inning to extend the EDH lead to 6-0. Hansen would come through again in the fourth with an RBI-ground rule double. Hansen built upon his big night by singling home the tenth and final run for EDH in the bottom of the fifth. ?We hope to win this thing,? said Coach Hansen. Cameron Trumbull threw four innings and struck out four for Folsom National. Connor O?Brien had a hit for Folsom and Jason Wiese made a run-saving play from shortstop, throwing out an EDH runner at the plate with catcher Sam Broff applying the tag. ?We?re proud of our guys for stepping up,? said Folsom National coach Mike Wiese. ?We were happy to get these two extra games in. We encourage all these guys to get out there and play some winter ball and we?ll get back together and do it all again next year.? EDH will play the loser of Thursday?s Woodcreek/Lakeside game on Friday evening at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to the double-elimination finals on Saturday.
