Early morning fire damages Folsom home

An early morning house fire damaged a home with the family home at the time of the fire. A one-alarm structure fire caused moderate damage to a home in the 400 block of South Lexington in Folsom this morning before being controlled by firefighters from three fire agencies. A family of seven including four adults and three children were home at the time of the fire and were able to safely evacuate the residence as the fire spread. There were no reported injuries. Damage is estimated at approximately $125,000. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Firefighters arrived on scene approximately five minutes after receiving the first 9-1-1 call from the homeowner and discovered a working fire inside the garage of the two-story home. Firefighters initiated an offensive fire attack using multiple hoselines that prevented the fire from spreading into the remainder of the home. The fire was controlled by firefighters approximately 27 minutes after the first engine company arrived on scene. Folsom Fire Department Engine 37, was the first to respond. In total 27 fire fighters worked on scene. Firefighters from the El Dorado Hills and Sacramento Metro Fire Districts also responded to the incident.
