Vista del Lago’s track and field team will send 10 athletes to the Division II section championships this week at Bella Vista High. Rachael Lahr won the Sierra Valley Conference long and triple jump titles and her 34-foot, 10.5-inch triple jump and her 110 hurdles time of 16.5 also set school records. Emily Cooper also had a great league meet, placing second in both the 100 and 200 meters, setting school records with a 12.56 and a 26.05, respectively. Narissa Truboi earned a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 and 200, while Marissa Mendez placed second in the 1,600 and was fourth in the 3,200. Other individual qualifiers included Jessica Sampson (long jump), Khendal Turner (high jump), Emily Tuscano (pole vault), Lesley Winford (triple jump), Scott Fukui (110 hurdles) and Peter Kohne (pole vault). Vista will also send two relay team to sections, including the 4x100 team of Sampson, Truboi, Turner and Cooper and the 4x400 team of Truboi, Lahr, Winford and Cooper.
