Eagles, Bulldogs youth football scores

Youth football wrap The Folsom Vista Jr. Eagles traveled to Cordova to face the Jr. Lancers and swept all four games. Next week Eagles are at home at Livermore Field against Colfax. Jr. Peewees Vista 33, Cordova 0 For the second game in a row, the Eagles defense posted a shutout to improve their overall record to 3-0. Tanner Sims rushed for 3 touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass from Brenden Boone. Josh Wisinski also rushed for a score. Peewees Vista 25, Cordova 18 The Eagles offense took apart the Lancers defense with a 25-18 win. Among the standouts were Andrew Coklley, Jarron Wade, Thomas Reinking and Josh Nielson. Jr. Midgets Vista 20, Cordova 6 The Jr. Midgets extended their record to 3-0 with a hard-fought victory. On their opening drive the Eagles marched down the field and punched it across on Connor Wilson’s 2-yard plunge. Kicker Ryan Wert added the extra point to bring the score to 8-0. After giving up a touchdown run to the Lancers, the game settled into a defensive battle with the score deadlocked at 8-6. The Eagles defense, led by key plays from Dalton Ostrander and Bradley Funk, pinned the Lancers deep in their own territory late in the game enabling the Eagles to run out the clock. Midgets Vista 42, Cordova 0 Austin McGuire scored three touchdowns as he cut back and forth through Lancer territory. Andrew Schantz scored when he recovered a fumble in the end zone caused by a devastating hit from the Eagle defense. Ryan Thompson scored on a four-yard run and Chris Veit intercepted a pass and returned it 22 yards for another score. The Eagles defense, led by Thomas Gust, Tyler Kaim, Ryan Thompson and Ryan Kuzinich, overwhelmed the Lancers. Bulldog Jr. Midgets, Midgets win Jr. Midgets Folsom 41, Woodcreek 0 The Folsom Jr. Midgets bounced back from last week’s defeat to improve to 3-1 with a 41-0 win over Woodcreek. Cole Thompson scored twice, while Josiah Deguara and Sam Whittingham also found the end zone, as did Parker Boone on an interception return. John Bender also made a 37-yard field goal. Kevin Gough had pancake blocks on offense, while Nick Brown, Tyler Crandall and Will McClure led the defense. Midgets Folsom 14, Woodcreek 8 The Midget squad improved to 3-1 with a 14-8 win over Woodcreek. Folsom scored on touchdown runs from Tommy McCreary and Troy Knox. Folsom defeated Roseville last week 24-0 on a solid team effort. The Bulldogs meet Granite Bay on Saturday at 5 p.m.
