Last week, the community embraced a new wine option for their shopping needs.

Total Wines and More opened Thursday, Nov. 29, in the former Borders location on East Bidwell Street in Folsom. The new store offers residents a wide selection of wine, spirits and brew.

“Our newest investment in the Sacramento community will benefit our customers, as well as the overall community,” says David Trone, who co-owns Total Wine and More with his brother Robert Trone.

Total Wine and More offers more than 8,000 wines, 3,000 spirits and 2,500 beers in each of its superstores, including hard-to-find labels and locally crafted products.

The store also offers more than just products for sale, including tastings, educational classes and special events.

Locals were excited to see the store open in the Folsom area and said it is the store’s experience, variety and helpful staff that make it a good place to shop.

Tim Muir of Folsom is a friend of the store manager, Carrie Boyle, and said he trusts her and the store for providing good wine choices.

“We know that she will pick the top wines for Folsom,” Muir said. “We respect her and her choices. We will shop at Total Wines in Folsom from now on.”

Bobbi Leclerc of Shingle Springs said she is happy to see a Total Wines open in the region.

“Total Wines has a great selection in a perfect location,” Leclerc said. “They also have wonderful wine education outreach programs for the community. We will be shopping here frequently because they have so much to offer.”

Wine maker Louis Deconinck, owner of Beaucanon Estate in Napa, said his wine will be offered at Total Wines in Folsom.

“Total Wines chooses what they believe in – not just commercial wines,” Deconinck said. “They choose family-owned options to meet their clients’ needs. They treat people with respect. Every person who walks in the door will be helped and treated with respect – that’s why I want my wine sold here.”
