FOLSOM, CA - Locals can cruise the seas while benefiting the Folsom History Museum through a special Cruise Planners fundraiser. Lisa Kennedy, a Folsom Cruise Planners - American Express Travel agent, is holding the fundraising cruise. Kennedy said $100 for each stateroom booked will be donated to the museum. The fundraising cruise includes a six-night Western Caribbean cruise on the “Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas” sailing on March 24, 2013. Folsom History Museum Director Mary Mast said this is a great way to expand fundraising for the museum. “This is something that people might want to do anyways by getting out of town during the cold winter months to take a March family vacation,” Mast said. “So rather than just donating $100 to the museum or sending in money, families are able to get something back for their money.” During this sailing, which is round trip from Ft. Lauderdale, the ship will visit Grand Caymen, Jamaica and Haiti. With two days at sea, passengers can try the ships rock-climbing wall, the ice-skating rink and the flow-rider. Passengers will receive complimentary dinner for two in one of the ship’s specialty restaurants and one Royal Caribbean coupon booklet per stateroom. “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to support the Folsom History Museum by using this cruise as a fundraiser for them,” said Kennedy. “Royal Caribbean offers a great multi-generational cruising experience. This sailing is during spring break for both the Folsom Cordova Unified School District and the San Juan Unified School District, making it a perfect option for local families. It returns to Ft. Lauderdale the Saturday before Easter, which gives families opportunity to fly home in time for Easter, or spend extra time in Ft. Lauderdale.” For more information, contact Kennedy at (916) 496-8665 or visit voyage2anywhere.com.
