Cross country runners, coach honored by Sac-Joaquin Section

The 2008 cross country season has long been over, but the Sac-Joaquin Section’s postseason awards have just been handed out and several local athletes have been recognized. Folsom High’s Maria Malone was named the female Runner of the Year, while Oak Ridge coach Rob Fairley was named the section’s girls’ coach of the year. Malone and Oak Ridge’s Hayley Scott were named to the all-girls’ first team, while Oak Ridge’s Amjed Aboukhadijeh made the boys’ first team. Oak Ridge sophomore Brittney Putman made the girls’ second team, while freshmen LeeAnn Hold and Maxine Goyette were honorable mention selections.
