Wells Fargo Bank was recently shaken after a sport utility vehicle slammed into the building. The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29, on Blue Ravine Road in Folsom. “It involved two vehicles,” said Folsom Fire Chief Ron Phillips. “One hit another and it caused the vehicle to leave the street and hit the bank.” Phillips said one person was transported to Mercy Folsom with minor injuries. “There was minor damage to the building,” he said. Folsom Police Officer Tim Galovich said a minivan was heading southbound on Blue Ravine Road in the left lane when an SUV changed lanes from right to left, directly in front of the van. The van was reportedly in the SUV driver’s blind spot and hit the van, causing it to spin counterclockwise. The force caused the SUV to spin into the bank. Neither car had passengers, Galovich said. “The elderly driver of the minivan had minor lacerations to her skin and the SUV driver had complaints of minor pains,” Galovich said. He said the minor damage to the rear of the bank building occurred during bank hours, however, no one inside the bank heard anything from the crash. “To avoid these kinds of collisions, drivers need to clearly check lanes and signal their intentions before changing lanes,” Galovich said.
