An unidentified man was injured Tuesday morning in a drive by shooting in Cameron Park. Lt. Bryan Golmitz of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department reports that the man, whose name and age were not immediately available, was shot while driving northbound on Cameron Park Drive near the Cameron Park Airport. “Deputies located the victim sitting in his vehicle at Fire Station 88,” Golmitz said. “The victim had what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to his left shoulder.” The victim was transported to Mercy Folsom for treatment for what authorities said were non-life threatening injuries. The suspects, who have yet to be identified, were reportedly driving a dark-colored vehicle with multiple subjects inside. They were driving the opposite direction. The victim reportedly told officials that he heard a gunshot and then felt pain in his left shoulder. Sheriff Deputies are investigating the circumstances surrounding this shooting and at this time no suspects have been arrested or identified. The Sheriff’s Office wants to assure the general public that this shooting was an isolated incident, and not a random act. More information will be published when it is made available.
