Taylor Knoll shot a team low 75, as Folsom High’s golf team placed third in the Delta River League Tournament held at Wildhawk on Tuesday. Joel Slak finished in 76 strokes, followed by Taylor Knoll, 78, D.J. Christensen, 79, Alex Morgan, 88 and Zack Brouchard, 91. Jesuit won the tournament in 375 strokes, while Pleasant Grove took second in 383. By beating Folsom by 13 strokes, the Eagles are a mere seven strokes behind the Bulldogs with the fourth and final league tournament coming on April 30. Folsom is battling Pleasant Grove for second place and earn a spot with Jesuit in the divisional tournament on May 5. The top-two teams in the league qualify. While the Bulldogs currently lead the Eagles, the final league tournament will be held on Pleasant Grove’s home course at Rancho Murietta. “We have to find a way by April 30 to improve our confidence and play our best match to keep our chance of qualifying as a team for the divisional tournament,” Folsom coach Steve Burgess said.
