Folsom High’s golf team played well at the Redhawk Invitational in Reno on Monday, placing fifth out of 16 teams. Hosted by Spanish Springs High School, the defending state champion on Nevada, the invitational was played under sunny skies on a cold day at the Lakes Course at the Resort at Redhawk. Folsom placed fifth with a score of 406, one off their goal. Brian Knoll led the way with a 76, while his brother, Taylor, finished three strokes behind. D.J. Christensen followed with an 81 and Alex Morgan was two strokes behind him. Rounding out the scores for the Bulldogs were Zach Bouchard’s 87 and Dalton Theis’ 88. “I was hoping our team could produce a 305, but realistically knew that anything under a 405 would be a good outing for us,” Folsom coach Steve Burgess said. “We just missed our goal, but represented ourselves well.”
