Broadway gets skewered in play

“Forbidden Broadway,” a spoof of show tunes, is adding weekend shows beginning Saturday. The show features song, characters and plots of contemporary and current Broadway Musicals. “Forbidden Broadway” has mocked popular shows like “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Wicked,” “Les Miserables,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Hairspray,” “The Lion King,” “The Music Man,” “Miss Saigon,” and “Rent,” to name a few. Added performances beginning July 2 are on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. through July 17. Thursday evening performances continue through July 14 at Sutter Street Theatre, 717 Sutter St., Folsom.
