Katie Bock led the way for Folsom High’s track and field team at the Rocklin Invitational Saturday, winning the 3,200-meter run in the freshman-sophomore division and setting a new meet record for Folsom in the process with a time of 11 minutes, 53.6 seconds.
Bock took the lead at the mile mark and held off a runner from Nevada Union to win the race by less than a second. Bock’s time was also a personal-best mark by 12 seconds.
Muna Alhamad also had a good day for the freshman-sophomore girls, winning the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:24.6, which was broke a six-year-old meet record set by Madi Bell.
At the varsity level, Austin Carter took second in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 15.59. Sam Scheuer ran fourth in the 3,200 in 9:44.3, while Vinnie Morin placed eighth in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 2:03.2.
Freshman Sara Anderson, competing at the varsity level, placed fifth in the 3,200 in 11:37. Cameron Estep placed 13th in the 300 hurdles in 55.8, her best time by six seconds. She also had a one-foot personal-best in the shot put of 21 feet, 2 inches.
