Art will show, wine will flow at El Dorado Hills Town Center this weekend

EL DORADO HILLS CA - The streets of Town Center will be bustling Mother?s Day weekend with thousands expected to attend the ninth annual El Dorado Hills Art and Wine Affaire. More than 100 artists will offer their handmade wares and about 20 El Dorado County wineries will be on site for tastings throughout the weekend. David Pollock, a sculptor and Somerset resident, said he is looking forward to the well-attended event. ?This is the best event from here to San Francisco,? he said. ?It?s a good show and they really pull in a horrendous amount of people.? The El Dorado Hills Optimist Club, El Dorado Arts Council and the El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce organize the event that includes live entertainment throughout the weekend at the Town Center Amphitheater and throughout the festival grounds. Handmade furniture from wine barrels, jewelry, Raku pottery, photographs and artisan glass designs will be among the offerings. Don?t miss the dance performances at 10:30 a.m. Saturday followed by ?The Rhythm Vandals,? a Santana Tribute band, from 2-4:30 p.m. On Sunday check out ?Over The Edge? at 11 a.m. and blues singer Shane Dwight at 2 p.m. It?s free to attend the event that starts at 10 a.m. each day. Wine tasting starts at noon and is $20 per person each day. Mount Aukum Winery is just one of the local wineries that will be pouring during the event. Laurie Dishman, director of sales and marketing for Mount Aukum, is looking forward to the fair. ?The El Dorado Hills Chamber does a wonderful job making sure we having everything we need,? she said. ?It?s a great venue to get people to know about El Dorado (County) wineries.? Most of the 20 wineries will have wine for sale available at Mama Ann?s Italian Deli in Town Center.
