Folsom High graduate Courtney Anderson and her teammates on the Cal State Stanislaus distance medley relay team placed second at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday in Birmingham, Ala.
Anderson, running the 1,600-meter leg, and her teammates Marina Ghabbour (1,200 meters), Chavarina Ryan (400 meters) and Aman Hundal (800 meters) posted a time of 11 minutes, 31.76 seconds and placed second to the University of Mary by less than three seconds. Anderson and her teammates’ time was nearly 12 seconds faster than their qualifying time.
Anderson’s time in the anchor leg 1,600 meters was 4:46.14.
