A Folsom man accused of multiple counts of sex crimes with a child was arrested in Idaho last week, Sept. 5.

Caleb Cameron Fife, 20, was wanted in California for eight counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, said Folsom Police Sergeant Andrew Bates.

Bates said only one victim was identified. He said the victim knew Fife, and the abuse happened over a period of time. Investigators have not released any information on the victim.

After the Folsom Police Department started investigating Fife, they learned he fled the state to Rexburg, Idaho, as he had ties to the area.

Bates said Folsom investigators contacted the Rexburg Police Department for assistance on locating Fife, and they were successful.

As of press time, Fife was still in custody in Idaho, as Folsom Police are waiting for him to be extradited to Sacramento County, where he will face charges.

Bates said he’s unsure of additional charges Idaho police added to Fife while in Idaho.

“Crimes against children are taken seriously,” Bates said. “Even if we have to go to another state, we will pursue violations that occur.”

No further information has been released at this time.
