Aerojet Rocketdyne recently donated $3,500 to the Folsom Cordova Unified School District (FCUSD) for another year as an investment of their support of STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education.

FCUSD Community Engagement Specialist Angela Griffin Ankhelyi said the funds from this generous donation support the district’s annual STEM Expo, as well as other programs that focus on STEM, such as the Folsom High Robotics Team and the Sutter Middle Rocketry Team. She said the STEM Expo is a secondary science fair for all middle school and school students district-wide.

“This is extra funding that will help students, especially those who may not be able to participate because of economic needs,” Griffin Ankhelyi said. “We make sure there are no barriers so all students can participate.”

Aerojet has been supporting STEM in education for 18 years, she said.

This year, the STEM Expo will take place at Folsom High School.

“Aerojet is an amazing partner,” Griffin Ankhelyi said. “We value our community partners that support student achievement. They are a shining example of supporting student enrichment.”
