Two men reportedly died from gunshot wounds in a Folsom neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to a statement from the Folsom Police Department.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Sunday, July 29, Folsom Police Department Dispatch received multiple calls regarding gun shots in the 700 block of King Way in the Ridgeview neighborhood. Officers arrived on scene and located two men with gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as 36-year-old Jeremy Williams and 43-year-old David McGhee.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel. The other man was transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment. While on his way to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.

Folsom Police Sergeant Andrew Bates said initial reports were that this incident was domestic disturbance related.

At the time of publication, Bates said detectives believe the incident was caused by an “argument over a dating relationship.”

According to an interview Fox40 had with a neighbor who witnessed the incident, they saw one of the men driving to his home on King Way as the other chased him. Bates was unable to confirm this information at the time of publication.

“Incidents like this are very rare in the City of Folsom,” said Folsom Police Detective Donald Rowberry. “We are working very diligently to piece this back together and figure out what happened.”

Folsom Police Department Detectives and CSI are still investigating the incident.

No further information has been released at this time.
