Three little league teams from Folsom are still alive in the winner’s brackets of the District 54 playoffs.
In the major division being played at Mann Park in Folsom, the Folsom American All-Stars had two impressive victories over Divide, 36-0 and Hangtown, 10-0, as the team plays Roseville West in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. In the game before at 5 p.m., Folsom National faces off against El Dorado Hills. Folsom National opened the tournament with an 11-1 win over Maidu, while El Dorado Hills defeated Ponderosa, 12-2.
The winners of those two games meet at 9 a.m. Saturday in the finals of the championship bracket. The winning team will still need another victory to take the tournament.
The Folsom National Junior All-Stars play in the finals of the championship bracket at Mahany Park in Roseville at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, facing Woodcreek. The winning team will play at 6 p.m. Thursday and a win would give them the District 54 title.
The Folsom American Junior All-Stars also play Tuesday night in the loser’s bracket, where they face Roseville West at 5 p.m. The winning team will play the Folsom National-Woodcreek loser at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
In the 9-10 All-Star Tournament being held at Jeff Mitchell Park in El Dorado Hills, both Folsom teams were alive in the loser’s bracket at the start of the week. Folsom National plays El Dorado Hills at 5 p.m. Tuesday, while Folsom American plays Maidu at 7:30 p.m. The winning teams advance to games Thursday, while the losing team’s tournaments are over.
In the 11-year-old tournament at Stone House Field in Rancho Murieta, Folsom National plays either Lakeside or El Dorado Hills at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The winning team continues on in the tournament, while the losing team is ousted.
The Folsom American All-Stars have already been eliminated, losing both of their games.
