We are entering our favorite time of the year here at the Greater Folsom Partnership – event season. Many of the fun events in Folsom are free! Be sure and mark your calendar for free music concerts happening at the Folsom City Park, Palladio and the amphitheater in Historic Folsom. More information can be found at, or

Outstanding collegiate athletes will have converge on Lake Natoma beginning June 2 with the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships (IRAs). College athletes from across the nation will be competing at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center. Did you know Lake Natoma is known for its outstanding rowing course? This is a great event to watch from the banks of the lake.

Summer in Folsom means Rodeo! We are gearing up for our 57th annual Folsom Pro Rodeo (July 1-3) and are excited to be offering this family tradition complete with nightly fireworks and non-stop fun. We are looking for volunteers for both the rodeo and the Folsom Family Roundup which takes place June 30 in the Folsom City Park. If you’re interesting in helping us bring this family tradition to the community, please visit and click on the volunteer link.

In the weeks prior to the rodeo, we’re hosting fun events with our grand marshal Rich Reynolds. These “Happy Hour” with the Grand Marshal events take place at various restaurants around town. Check out the schedule at Come celebrate with us!

It’s also the season of graduation and weddings. First, congratulations! Second, don’t forget our local businesses have everything you need for a wonderful celebration from caterers to that special gift. Our branded hotels offer accommodations for friends and family attending these major milestones. Spending your money in your community business benefits everyone from your neighbor (who might even own that store) to helping provide our outstanding public amenities such as parks and public safety. Check out and to find the business or services you may need.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone on the importance of participating in the process of drafting the new Folsom General Plan. Over the next six to eight months, the process will include the environmental review of the document’s elements. For more information, check out the city’s website,
