Falcon sports results from the week of March 23-March 31:

 

Friday, March 23

Baseball – FLC 18, Skyline 2

Anthony Mislinski had four hits (including a three-run homer) and 5 RBI, Josh Winkler had four hits, and Jake Gross hit a three-run homer, as the Falcon offense exploded for 19 hits in a non-conference win at Falcon Field.

 

Saturday March 24

Baseball - FLC 6, Skyline 4               

The Falcons scored four runs in the ninth inning to snatch the victory. A two-run single by Nate George tied the score, then Aiden Malm’s two-run homer provided the winning margin. Ricky Espinoza earned the win with two innings of shutout relief.

 

Softball - Sierra 9,  FLC 5                  

The Falcons couldn’t get enough offense going as they lost the opener of their doubleheader at Sierra. 

 

Sierra 13, FLC 0

With just three hits and no walks, base runners were a rare sight for the Falcons, as the Wolverines pounded out 14 hits in the easy victory.

 

Tuesday, March 27

 

Baseball – American River 5, FLC 4

A back-and-forth game at ARC ended with the Beavers tying it in the eighth and winning it with a bases-loaded squeeze bunt (after two hit batters) in the ninth.

 

Softball - Delta 9, FLC 0                   

The host Mustangs dominated this game with 13 hits against just three for the Falcons.

 

Thursday, March 29

Softball - Santa Rosa 11, FLC 0      

The Falcons were shut out for the third consecutive game, as the bats continued to struggle. McKenna Rickles and Kelsey Liddell had four of the team’s five hits.

 

Santa Rosa 8, FLC 4        

The Falcons led 3-0 after three innings and 4-2 after five innings, but the Bear Cubs scored six in the final two innings to steal the win at Falcon Diamond.

 

Baseball - FLC 5, ARC 4                      

Down 4-3 after seven innings at Falcon Field, the Falcons tied it in the eighth, then won it with a two-out walk-off home run by Anthony Mislinski. Cody Lindsey pitched three shutout innings to earn the win after a solid start by Shane Gustafson. 

 

Friday, March 30                     

Baseball - FLC 17, ARC 8                   

A nine-run second inning and a four-run third inning put this game away early, as the Falcons improved to 5-7 in Big 8 play and climbed to fifth place in the standings. Five Falcons collected three hits apiece – John Mook, Josh Winkler, Anthony Mislinski, Jack Rotteveel, and Andrew Williams.
