There’s not much room separating the eight teams in the Northern California open division boys’ basketball playoffs and Folsom proved that on Friday night.

The Bulldogs, the eighth and final team to make the tournament, upset top-seeded Salesian, 75-70, in overtime to advance to the semifinals on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs will face a familiar foe in Sheldon, who they lost to in overtime just two games ago on Feb. 28, 69-65, in the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals. The Huskies also won their first Nor-Cal opening game in overtime Friday night, defeating fifth-seeded San Joaquin Memorial, 67-65.

Tuesday’s game is a 7 p.m. start at Sheldon High.
