Folsom Jr. Bulldogs fall in championship games.
Oak Ridge 22, Folsom 6
The Folsom Jr. Bulldog Mighty Mites played for the championship against the Oak Ridge Jr. Trojans on Saturday at Oak Ridge High School. The Jr. Trojans proved to be a formidable opponent, as the Jr. Bulldogs came up short, losing their only game of the season. The Jr. Bulldogs had their only score early when E.J. Coleman sprung for a 58-yard touchdown on the second play of the game. The Jr. Bulldog defense put up a worthy fight only allowing three touchdowns all season, two of them in the championship game. Logan Hara and Braxton Martinez each had an interception keeping their team in the game. Even though the Jr. Bulldogs didn’t get the win, the team had a lot of success throughout the year and walked off the field with their heads held high.

The Bulldog offense was stymied in the second half, as the Thunder provided a swarming defense.

Rocklin 8, Folsom 0
The Folsom Jr. Bulldogs squared off with the Rocklin Jr. Thunder on Saturday night for the championship in El Dorado Hills and lost 8-0. It was a great defensive battle by both teams. The high-power offenses were both held in check most of the game, as the only touchdown came when Rocklin scored on a 60-yard pass play late in the second quarter. The Bulldogs offense had opportunities throughout the game, but just couldn't find the end zone. The Bulldog defense played a great game keeping it close. Justin Arnaz had a huge punt return with two minutes to play in the game, taking the ball down to the Thunder 25. The Bulldog offense moved the ball inside the 15 with just 40 seconds to play. Bulldog quarterback Tyler Tremain attempted to hit Jacob Viega in the corner of the end zone, but was intercepted to end the game.
The Bulldogs ended their junior careers with an impressive 66-3 record and five championships in six years. A huge thank you to all the Folsom fans who showed up to root on the Bulldogs.
