FCUSD schools, offices to close Thursday Nov. 15 due to smokeBy: Telegraph Staff
Due to persistent unhealthy air quality conditions from the area wildfires, officials from the Folsom Cordova Unified School District are closing all District schools and offices, including the Education Services Center, on Thursday, Nov. 15 out of an abundance of caution.
There will be no bus service Thursday, Nov. 15 due to the district-wide school closure. Employees will not need to report to work, according to the statement released Wednesday evening.
“This is an unprecedented situation and not a decision we take lightly. Our top priority is the health and safety of our students and staff,” reads the statement.
On Thursday by 3 p.m. the District will notify all families regarding whether school or offices will be open Friday.
School officials would like to thank everyone for their patience and partnership. Updates will be provided via mass notification (phone, email, text message, mobile app), our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/folsomcordova), Twitter (www.twitter.com/folsomcordova), and the District website (www.fcusd.org) as details are available and as quickly as possible. The Folsom Telegraph will update the community as well.
