Telegraph to provide election results onlineBy: Dennis Noone of The Telegraph
The Folsom Telegraph will be posting election results online later this week, as results from the Folsom City Council race and a school bond measure were not expected to come in until after press deadlines Tuesday afternoon.
In Folsom, four challengers sought to unseat the three incumbents seeking re-election – Mayor Kerri Howell and City Council members Andy Morin and Steve Miklos.
The challengers, listed alphabetically, are Roger Gaylord, a cybersecurity consultant who serves on the city’s Utilities Commission; retired schoolteacher Jennifer Lane, who serves on the city Planning Commission; Sandra Lunceford, an environmental consultant and historian who has been a longtime volunteer at the Folsom History Museum; and Chad Vander Veen, a writer/editor who served on the city’s now-defunct Architecture Review Commission.
Also of local interest is Measure G, a $195 million school bond proposition.
Here is the wording that appears on ballots: “To upgrade instructional technology, computer labs, student safety and security systems, construct, acquire, repair classrooms, sites, facilities/equipment to improve the quality of academic instruction in core subjects like math, science and writing, replace aging portable classrooms, and upgrade aging/inefficient electrical/HVAC systems to save money, shall Folsom Cordova Unified School District School Facilities Improvement District No. 5 issue $195 million in bonds at legal rates with citizen oversight, annual audits, with all funds spent only in Folsom and no funds for administrators’ salaries?”
