Two Folsom businesses were broken into in the early hours of Tuesday, Oct. 16, and police say the same three suspects are responsible.

At 2:27 a.m. Sunglass Hut in the Folsom Premium Outlets had a large rock smashed through one of their front windows, said Folsom Police Detective Debra Salvo.

Salvo said officers are still working with the surveillance videos, but three suspects stole numerous sunglasses.

Only minutes after, Adrian Blanco Jewelry’s alarm went off due to another large rock being thrown through the front door’s window at 2:47 a.m. Adrian Blanco Jewelry is located on Natoma Street, just across the street from the Folsom Police Department.

Salvo said after looking at surveillance videos, police believe the same three suspects are involved. She said they were wearing gloves and had their faces covered, but have not been identified.

Luckily for Owner Adrian Blanco, 95 percent of his store’s items are locked in a safe overnight, so not much was taken.

“When I arrived here, there were already some police officers that had been here a few minutes. The glass on my front door was broken and three showcases were broken,” Blanco said. “Nothing of significant value was taken. If anything, this was just a huge vandalism, so it’s mostly clean up for us. We put away most of our stuff at night for this reason alone.”

Some of the items taken from Blanco’s store included a few watches, some silver pieces, as well as the majority of the prototype diamond rings. Blanco has an assortment of prototype diamond rings for show, but are worth less since they are set with cubic zirconia. Real diamond rings are special ordered.

No further information has been released at this time.
