Local musicians headline EDH Sons of Italy Fundraiser

The Gold Country Lodge #2705 Order Sons of Italy will present its 21st annual Crab Feed in El Dorado Hills later this month. This annual gala event will not only offer a divine feast for crab connoisseurs but has added the musical entertainment of Cynthia Renee and Company at this year’s event on January 28.


Renee is well known in the Folsom area and afar, a singer songwriter who wrote her own numbers “Where are You Now” and “The Journey” which were produced by Bill Bentley productions. She performs a full schedule in the region at various venues including Unwined in Folsom, Crystal Basin Cellars, Gold Hill Vineyards, Stones Casino and others. She participated in final auditions for NBC’s  “The Voice” in 2013 and has become one of the area’s most sought after local performers.


Renee will be joined for the Sons of Italy event by guitarist Ed Wilson. Wilson is known for his work in the local band “The Fabulous Liars.” The duo will perform a set list consisting of acoustic cover songs from the late 70 and 80’s to current top hits ranging from pop to country.


The Gold Country Sons of Italy Lodge #2705 Crab Feed is an annual fundraiser for scholarships for El Dorado County, Western Slop High Schools including Oak Ridge High School, Ponderosa High School and Union Mine High School.


The nonprofit organization has been raising funds and awarding scholarships for more than 15 years in the area. In addition to the scholarship program, the generous group also offers financial support to Oak Ridge High School’s Italian language program. Currently there are 200 students in this program.
